Mini Me, stop humping the "laser". Honest to God! Why don't you and the giant "laser" get a fricken room for God's sakes?

I finally made it to my dermatologist yesterday. I've been trying to make this appointment for the last two months or so. Both my main specialists put in a consult and wasn't until two weeks ago that I was contacted. MAN! Dermatologists are busy people.

As you may (or may not) know, I went to the dermatologist to see what can be done about my stretch marks. I didn't want to get ahead of myself and visit the cosmetic surgeon just yet. I thought baby steps were best.

I get to my derm and register. The ladies at the counter are rather lovely and I get a referral for my job's therapy center while I'm there (pretty awesome). I sit, wait and worry that I will only get bad news. I'm called in and undress for the doctors. I slip on the nostalgic hospital gown and remember how much I can't stand wearing them. The stupid wrap around fit is not my fave. Not a fan. At. All.

My dermie comes in and we chit chat for a bit. He looks at my stretch marks and just sighs.
"These are pretty bad." AWESOME.
Stretch marks he explains are scarring of the skin. As Wiki puts it, "Stretch marks are often the result of the rapid stretching of the skin associated with rapid growth (common in puberty) or weight gain (e.g. pregnancy, muscle building, or rapid gain of fat) or in some cases, severe pulling force on skin that overcomes the dermis' elasticity."
We already know this. I got all fat with water, stretched in ways my body couldn't handle it and VIOLA!
beautiful. stretch. marks.

At first he told me that there was nothing that could be done. Creams were bogus and didn't work. I asked about surgery or ANY other option. He said he would speak to his team.

I waited. and waited

and waited.
and waited.
and slept while waiting.
sleeping.
sleeping
KNOCK.
40 mins later he is back with his team and the option for laser removal! I like it when my doctors don't just give up and give me a black and white answer. They didn't promise outstanding results. They said it may not work. I am more than willing to give that a try. Next step, consultation with the director lady of the cosmetic surgery department at BMC and save money for laser time.

It is both nerve wrecking and exciting. There may be a solution. There may not be. I only live once and I want to give it a try.

I also need a personal trainer. Any takers?
